Nursing Aide/Assistant/Orderly
Career Description
Nursing aides, assistants or orderlies, also referred to as hospital
attendants, provide basic patient care under direct nursing supervision.
Typical work activities include attending to patients’ comfort,
hygiene and
meals; assisting with patient mobility; checking temperatures and
vital signs; helping patients keep
rooms and beds clean; and reporting any changes in patients’
demeanor or agility to the nurses or doctors
on duty.
